Appium Automation SDET

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SDET specializing in Appium Automation to
join our QA engineering team. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality of
our mobile applications by developing and executing automated test cases using Appium.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in mobile
automation frameworks, coding, and quality assurance practices.

Key Responsibilities

Here are some major responsibilities for Appium Automation SDET at Routematic

1. Test Automation Development:
   o Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable, and scalable test automation
   frameworks using Appium.
   o Create and execute automated test scripts for mobile applications on both iOS
   and Android platforms.
2. Test Strategy and Execution:
   o Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to
   understand requirements and design test cases.
   o Execute automated and manual tests as needed and analyze results to identify
   issues.
3. Defect Management:
   o Report and track bugs, working closely with the development team to resolve
   issues.
   o Verify bug fixes through automated regression tests.
4. Continuous Improvement:
   o Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and frameworks for
   efficiency and accuracy.
   o Research and implement new tools and technologies to enhance automation
   coverage and performance.
5. Integration with CI/CD:
   • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing and deployment.

Qualifications

1. Educational Background:
   o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Technical Skills:
   o Proficiency in automation tools like Appium, Selenium, and similar
   frameworks.
   o Strong programming skills in Java.
   o Experience with version control systems such as Git.
   o Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Docker, or similar CI/CD tools.
   o Knowledge of mobile application architecture and APIs (REST).
3. Experience:
   o [3–6] years of experience in QA automation, specifically with mobile
   applications.
   o Proven expertise in creating Appium scripts for iOS and Android platforms.
   o Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
4. Soft Skills:
   o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
   o Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional
   teams.
   o Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud testing platforms like LambdaTest.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing tools.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
